Redefining Church began with a bold vision and an undeniable move of God. Led by Pastors Alan and Joni Taylor, true visionaries with a heart for people and a message of hope, the church held its very first service on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. What started as a small biweekly gathering with a simple goal, to create a space where people could experience real, raw, life-changing encounters with Jesus, quickly grew into something much greater.

Word spread fast. What began as a small community blossomed into a movement of hope and transformation. Lives were being changed. Families were being restored. Faith was being reignited. On January 14, 2024, Redefining officially launched as a weekly church, and we haven’t looked back since. In just a short time, we’ve become known as one of the fastest-growing community churches in Shreveport.

But our heart extends far beyond Sunday mornings. We are a church on a mission: to serve, uplift, and love our city in tangible ways. Each year, Redefining Church hosts a citywide Community Baby Shower, providing essentials, clothing, diapers, formula, and strollers to over 300 babies and single mothers across Shreveport. We sponsor two annual Gas Giveaways, blessing hundreds of families with free fuel and prayer during seasons of financial hardship. Every Mother’s Day, we host the Mompreneur Awards, honoring women who are balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship with grace and excellence.

We also lead a powerful outreach called Embrace Grace, a faith-based support group for unexpectant teen moms. Through weekly classes, mentorship, and encouragement, we help them find hope and healing, ending each session with a heartfelt baby shower to remind them they are loved, seen, and supported.

At Redefining Church, we’re not just growing…we’re giving, serving, and redefining what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus in today’s world.
