Here at Redefining Church, we do not teach or believe in “tithing” as this was an Old Testament law found in Malachi 3, Leviticus 27 and other Old Testament scriptures. 

Malachi 3 speaks of being cursed with a curse due to the lack of “paying tithes”, in which Galatians 3:13 speaks of Christ overcoming the Curse of the Law, which makes us free from it, because of Grace. 

We base our belief on Giving to God from 2 Corinthians 9:7, where it teaches us to give what is purposed in our hearts. From this teaching, it prompted an initiative called “WorthTen”.

WorthTen challenges our hearts and asks us a question, “Is God worth 10%?” So rather than “paying tithes” out of obligation, we “GIVE” 10%, as a posture of our hearts. 

It’s our commitment to God and his work in the earth realm. We strongly believe by joining this WorthTen initiative, our hearts become more connected to God through our generosity.
